In order to help, we will need a bit more detail: where is the family.
But usually, the "single father" is a red flag! Make sure that the family is legit, that you have contact with the father and the children via Skype (or face to face).
Also, just the embassy can provide the visa, although the family is needed of the process, they cannot deliver the visa directly to you!
And do not send any money before you are sure that everything is alright.
