Dear Mercy,

to be honest, we don't know - as we're not part of the contract between the family and the au pair, we don't have an overview about who finally became au pair in which family.

As an au pair (no matter from which country) you need to be aware, that there are many more au pairs searching for families than the other way round, so it's really important that you make your profile stand out from the crowd to make host families being interested in you.

I had a look at your profile and I would advice you to add more information about yourself and why you want to become an au pair in the "more about me" section in your profile - if I was a family I wouldn't answer to an au pair who has only the basic information filled in...

I cross my fingers for you, that you soon find a matching family!

Maria from the cAP team

Hi,thank you for your answer, I have filled the information twice on the more about me section, but I am having difficulty saving it.

It's a lot of information to keep typing but it is not getting saved.

Hi Mercy,

I can tell you that we will hopefully soon get the message that our au pair from Kenya got her visa granted! :-)

Of course welcoming an au pair from Africa is much more complicated than taking an au pair from the EU (the visa process takes several months!!) and also kind of risky, as we e.g. have to sign a "Verpflichtungserklärung" (formal obligation), but we are sure she's going to be a great au pair and it's worth the effort.

I cross my fingers for you, that you will also soon find a matching host family!!

Greetings from Germany,
Maria

Hi Mercy

I read your profile and l liked it. Am also wondering if any Kenyan has gone to Europe countries and American countries using this site.

I have a very big phobia, which is my years! Am 25years old, clocking 26 years late December this year! America you can't be an aupair if your 27years,l really wish to one before the year ends and it's so traumatized that one has to use an agent to get there and an fee is required.

About another thing in the site, what level of English we are in. We (Kenyans) aren't in A1,A2,B1,B2 neither C2. I chose C1.

In C1, United Kingdom(UK) isn't among the countries we Kenyans, aupair are to visit. I followed up the process to get there 6months but to be told the last minute  Kenyans isn't among the countries United Kingdom takes aupair from.

They are some countries this site has paired us with, that our countries isn't listed to be their au pair and still they are some which are left out.

What level of English language do we Kenyans have?

We can't be advanced nor Learning.

All in all this site, is my best, messages from the CAP are replied within no much time, it's excellent. The layout is perfect and it's helpful.

The scams are dealt with within no much time. Your encouraged to keep on trying searching as they give you updates to what you should and shouldn't write. Most cAP team are in Facebook with there original names and there really update one not to give up.

This is the best aupair sites l came across even though l haven't met my host family yet. Keep up with the good and excellent job your doing. Am greatful.

Greetings from Kenya,

Rebecca.
