You can find the step by step instructions how to use our site to search for host family from our FAQ. 

Registering to connectAuPair is free for au pairs! If you want to use an au pair agency (or in some cases if you have to use an agency, like when applying to the USA) then you have to pay a fee for them. You can see more detailed information on how to apply for each host country from our country information.
