as an Au pair, I can clearly tell you that the household chores assigned to you are and should be light. The basic idea of aupairing is mainly to take care of the children alongside light housework so basically it's just helping around the house. I may not term it as exhausting, it's really not much of a big deal, but if you feel as though your chores are exaggerated, I advice you to go over your contract or discuss it with you host parents and come up with a suitable solution.
