becoming au pair / host family which host country?

Where can I be an aupair ?

  • Hello, my name is Véronique, a 20 years girl from Cameroon, and I still in my country. Yesterday I see on a website that I can't become an aupair in Germany anymore but they didn't explain why, i can't also be an aupair in Canada and Australia but in France yes. Here on connectaupair I saw that I can be an aupair in Germany, Canada, Australia but not in France . Yet I'm very confused. Can someone can tell me the truth about all of this?

Hi Véronique,

at which website did you find the information that you can't become an Au-Pair in Germany? I wouldn't know any reason why this should be the case!

For France and Canada it's a little bit more complicated (they have different types of visa programs you can use to become an au pair).

When we've set up connectAuPair our team has put hundreds of hours into researching all the regulations, so I would absolutely trust the information you find in the country information. The only reason why it could be wrong would be that it changed over the last three years (since we changed cAP to be fully free of charge there's no team any more who could research and update the country information).

So if you have doubts, just follow the links in the country information to the original information resources (from governments) and if you find that something is really outdated then let us know so we can change it.
